Just a simple question: Will it be possible to use a AGP 8x card like Matrox Parhelia on a AGP 4x motherboard like APOX 4BEA? APOX? I think you mean EPoX? :-) Anyway, yes, it'll work fine. In 4x mode obviously, but that's a moot point anyway, as the Parhelia isn't anywhere fast enough to need the extra bandwidth.

My motherboard supports AGP 4X/Pro while the card is capable of AGP 8X bandwidths. While many mid-range cards may not typically benefit from the increased bandwidth of AGP 8X, is it possible the FX3000 is bottlenecked by my AGP bus? I'm not even sure if there's such a thing as a basic AGP 8x card. In my own case, I'm keeping my PCI TNT2 card to tie me over for a few weeks/months until the next generation of videocards come out, and the price of the Radeon 9000 Pro AIW comes down a little. A basic TNT2 AGP 4x card costs around 27 euros here.
